Bone Marrow Transplant -Thalassemia
Donation protected
Narada Prasanna Udagedara, my cousin's son, is a 9 year old boy from my village in Sri Lanka. He is a typical little boy...full of life, dreams and hopes. Unfortunately, Narada suffers from Thalasemia Major, a rare blood disorder that requires him to receive frequent blood transfusions in order to live. His parents, Sumith Udagedara and Sivanthika Bandara, have done everything in their power to give him a fighting chance to live, but Narada’s body is deteriorating. Currently the frequency of transfusions has been increased, but this will not be enough to keep him alive. Narada needs a bone marrow transplant. The estimated cost for the procedure is about Rs. 80, 00000 (about $50,000 USD). The president's fund in Sri Lanka provides Rs. 500000 ( about $3125 USD). The rest is upon his parents. Narada's parents are not in a position to afford that much money; they live on day to day jobs with no savings. As a matter of fact they can barely afford the current treatment for Narada's disease. Hopefully, a bone marrow transplant will change all of their lives. Narada needs your help immediately. Let’s give Narada a chance to live
