Bolin Creek Unpaved: Saving Carrboro's Last Forest is a 44 minute long documentary made by film maker Charlie Morris on a budget of $0.  The film premiered at the Carrboro Arts Center to 290 people, nearly selling out the theatre in Carrboro, NC on Sunday January 15th, 2017.

Bolin Creek Unpaved explores the diversity & beauty of Carrboro’s last intact riparian forest and the controversy surrounding its conservation. The film has also been recognized as a very useful instrument in creating a reality where paving through the last intact forest in the area will be deemed as unacceptable.

It’s a story about our town, but it’s also a story about every town facing the issue of development versus conservation…the importance of having wild places next to where we live and how that adds to our quality of life more than “more pavement” ever can.

Distribution and outreach for the film into local schools, universities and other screenings have come into focus to continue to spread the word and  keep Bolin Creek Forest as a forest!

Funding is being sought to help with the time and associated costs of keeping this effort alive.  Financial support will go towards printing of posters to advertise screenings, reservation fees for different venues, online storage fees, and time spent wrangling all this together!
