 BOGART, GA
My Brother, Bobby Prince, found out that he had colon cancer last year. He was operated on, had a colostomy, was thought to be cancer free, and had the colostomy reversed.  Now,  all these months later,  they have found another tumor in his colon. He is beginning chemo to shrink the tumor before they operate again. Once again, he must go through this process.
Bobby is best known, in Athens, by his musical career. He was THE original Jester. He is my hero and probably the smartest person I have ever known.  When computer music was in it's infancy, he was at the forefront and wrote the music to Doom, Duke Nukem, and many others.
He has never let me down when I needed help and it is my wish that this fund will give him some relief in all of these added expenses.

It is May 18th, and Bobby is doing well. In the last surgery, they were unable to remove the part of the colon that they wanted to due to a large amount of scar tissue. They did an ileostomy in order for everything to heal. In his most recent colonoscopy, the surgeon said that everything looked good, but he won't know for sure until the results of biopsies are returned. Please continue with your support, both spiritually and financially, as the bills seem never-ending. God Bless

Bobby has had two good months or so to heal and we thank God for it. We thank you for all of your loving support and prayers. He will have, what will hopefully be, his final surgery this week. His doctor will remove the part of his colon that the tumor was on. Bobby is in great shape otherwise and we are praying for a most successful surgery and a quick recovery. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers and please send lots of light his way.

It has been a while since an update on my brother. January and February have been good months for his healing, we pray. He looks good and is in good spirits. He found out that he will have his, hopefully, final surgery, that one that totally heals him, in the middle of March. He does so appreciate all of the love that you have shown him, both in donations and in prayers sent his way. Please keep him in your prayers.

Because GoFundMe doesn't allow more than one person to post updates on an account, I've asked my brother David to post this update so I can thank each of you for your generosity and wonderful words of support.

To those of you I have had the honor and privilege of working with, I enjoyed every moment of our time together. I have been extremely lucky to have worked with people who also love what they do. It creates true magic and proves to me that when a group of people love what they do, the resulting whole of a project is more than merely the sum of its individual parts.

To those I haven't had the opportunity to work with, I honor and respect what you have done, and I hope you have experienced the same joy I have felt when working on projects.

To those I have inspired to create music, I am humbled that anything I may have done has been an inspiration to you. It makes me feel really good to know that more music is being made by you -- there is never too much music! I hope you write a lot of it! The more music you write, the luckier you will seem when one of your creations is a hit :-)

To those who have fond memories of music and/or sound effects I have contributed to projects, it makes me very happy that I could do something that continues to mean something personal to you.

As for my health, I am at a good place right now. During five weeks of chemo and radiation I lost 30 lbs.and had almost zero energy. I've been off chemo/radiation for three weeks, and my appetite has returned until I eat like a horse. I've gained back 15 lbs. and enough energy to exercise and build back some muscle.

A couple of days ago, I had a CAT Scan and will learn the results next week after seeing an oncologist and a surgeon. There is the possibility of having to have more surgery and the probablilty of more chemo. While it's not fun to have any of this happen, it's easier to face when I've been through it all before.

And, of course, there's always the possibility of remission with no further treatment required :-)

After all this is over, I am seeing myself quickly getting back to what I love to do.

And, I am definitely looking forward to paying forward the generosity and support you all have sent to me.

I wish each of you health, happiness, plenty of opportunities to do what you love -- and a LOT of fun!

Warm regards,
Bobby

Glad to see you're doing better, Bobby. The influence of what you've done is undeniable. I run a band/project/collective whose music consists entirely of sequenced MIDI, and I definitely credit you (particularly in your work on the Doom soundtrack) with making me realize the vast potential of that medium and use it to carve my own big musical niche. Hell, the drum patterns you programmed have even influenced me as a drummer. Have a good recovery and return.
