In Memory of Bob Campbell

Bob Campbell's life was tragically taken on Friday April 27th 2018. He was killed instantly while driving home and was hit head on by another driver. Bob was driving home from a fundraiser where he served on the board for Big Hill Haven's Women's Shelter in Cochrane.

He was also a volunteer parent for his dog Remmy who is part of the P.A.D.S. program. Together they were involved in the CBE reading initiative at Eric Harvie School where they would read with students.

Bob was passionate and dedicated to helping his family, friends and others. He was an animal lover, leaving behind his dog Remmy, his cat Jazzy and his horse Misty. He had many hobbies including, hiking, curling, equestrian, photography, refereeing, and helping coach his granddaughters Ringette teams. He was a very active volunteer in his community.

On his bucket list he was able to scratch off many things. The most recent thing he did was a 3 week trip to Africa where he was able to capture photos of beautiful wildlife and catch a glimpse of the big five. He lived everyday to the fullest and was making the most of his retirement.

He left behind a family who loved him deeply, son Bryan Campbell and daughter Robyn Bujold, son in law Jason Bujold and daughter in law Melanie Mileham Campbell as well as 6 grandchildren who all loved him beyond words. He was the most involved, committed father and grandfather.

He was a generous man. He was a wise man. He was a supportive man. He was a trusted respected advisor to so many people.

The most valuable gift he gave to those he loved, was his time.

He never missed a grandchild’s ringette game, boxing matches, kids rehearsals, school events, Birthdays and so much more. He always attended his sons heavy metal shows as their resident photographer and a very proud father. His involvement in his daughters ringette was a passion the was shared throughout the family.

This tragedy has devastated everyone who knew him and loved him.

Bob had a passion for volunteering and being a part of many organisations. From Alcoholics Anonymous, to the Cochrane Curling Club, to Cochrane Ringette and P.A.D.S. The help he offered was endless.

In life he loved to help others so in death the family would like to help him make a difference one last time. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made through this GoFundMe Page and all monies will go to help the fundraising efforts of the Cochrane Women's Shelter, Big Hill Haven, in Bob's name.
