Scholarships for young horse lovers
A little about us:
We have permission from the property owner where we board to call our equestrian endeavors "Blue Rock Horse Park", but we're not incorporated, and so are not a non-profit corporation.
We only have two horses. One of them is dependably rideable, and we use her for low-cost, private lessons, and to give friends and other visitors rides.
Through the ~25 years we've been giving riding lessons, and just having visitors, at the stables where we've boarded them (and the two that passed away in old age), we've seen so many (mostly young girls, but folks of both genders and all ages) just "light up" when they're around them.
This becomes even greater when they gain confident control over a 1,000+ lb. animal!
We've always offered scholarships to those who have the need, ability or attitude to qualify. We'd like to do that a lot more!
But the insurance availability in Ohio just changed, and finances may keep us from being able to continue at all. Also, some low-cost resources have changed (like our farrier-friend and veterinarians retiring), further raising costs.
Won't you consider helping young and old enjoy this wholesome, freeing and confidence-building pastime?
Some of our students have even expressed an interest in going on to the Equestrian Olympics some day!
With enough financial support, we could add horses and facilities to take them closer to their dreams.
Our "day job" is pastoring a small church, part of the international ministry we founded in 1980.
Please pray about helping us!
