Today, we’re announcing a competition to give athletes the chance to win $10,000 as they train and prepare to compete on the global stage. The athlete who raises the most money in a GoFundMe campaign between June 27th and July 15th will win the $10,000 prize.

Over the past several months, nearly 100 athletes have raised over $400,000 from their friends, families and supporters on GoFundMe. This competition will highlight the athlete’s fundraising efforts and provide an incentive to donors and the athletes alike.

“As a former athlete, I’m glad that GoFundMe can join in the spirit of competition and sportsmanship,” said GoFundMe CEO Rob Solomon. “I want to encourage all members of the GoFundMe giving community to support these athletes as they compete for greatness on the worldwide stage.”
