Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail for Stroke awareness
One day in 2003, I went to sleep with full vision. The next morning I woke up partially blind.
After being educated, I looked back and can remember the moment the stroke was happening. With the knowledge gained after the incident, I now know how to spot a stroke and react to it. I want everyone to know how to spot and react to the symptoms of a stroke.
While I hike the 2650 mile Pacific Crest Trail, please take a few minutes to learn how to spot a stroke with F-A-S-T:
Face drooping
Arm weakness
Speech difficulties
Time to call emergency services (9-1-1)
Visit strokeassociation.org to learn more.
A portion of this campaign will be donated to the America Heart Association to help fight stroke, one of the nations top killers.
