Blessings for Lahna Wimmer

What started as a visit to the Doctor for a cough has turned into so much more for the Wimmer family. Here is what has happened, in Lahna's words:

"I usually don't like to post real personal things but felt like a lot of people would want to know what I have to share. Tonight I am sitting in a hospital room at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland with my husband, Ron, of 40 years.
On January 11th, Ron was diagnosed with Small Cell Carcinoma. This is a very agressive type of lung cancer. When we met with the oncologist for the first time Ron said he wanted to "go down swingin''. So for the last month and a half life has been insane to say the least. The tumor in Ron's lungs was threatening to cut off his airway so the doctors started very agressive treatment right away. But after daily radiation and two bouts of chemo we have found that Ron's body can't tolerate the treatment. The first hospitalization he had was for pnemonia and this time his white blood count and platelet count are extremely low. Our hope now is that he will bounce back from this issue and get to spend the bottom of the 9th inning at home and that it will be a lengthy inning where his quality of life is more tolerable than the last month has been.
I hope no one will be offended that I didn't let you know of this sooner, but like I expressed above, life has been a whirlwind.
I ask for prayers for Ron and all our family. Even though there have been some bumpy times over the years, any of you who really know Ron, know how good his heart is. He has been a great father and grandfather, and still is the love of my life and my best buddy."

Since this all began, Lahna has taken a great deal of time off to be with Ron. As some of you may know, family FMLA is not as generous as we would like to think. After careful discussion with her family, she has asked that this GoFundMe account be setup in the event that she goes into unpaid leave. Lahna is such an amazing lady, her grace, love, presence in all of our lives is indefinable.
