So I know the title of this campaign makes it sound like we got hit by a typhoon but hear me out.
Hey everyone, my name is Donovan. I'm a singer/songwriter and half of an indie-soul duo known as The Black Noise based out of Long Beach, CA. I've been pursuing music for nearly seven years now with my bandmate Victor and we've been blessed with amazing friends and fans. They have supported us through all the ups and downs of independent artistry and now we are faced with another challenge to overcome.
Last week all of Vic's equipment for guitar was stolen out of his car while it was parked behind his apartment. We lost everything, including the guitar, amp, pedals, and cables. We were in the process of recording our first ever full length album and we were just about to start tracking guitar for that and now we aren't able to do that. We also won't be able to play any shows until we get the equipment back so raising money for ourselves is going to be tough. Also a couple of legendary musicians from Stevie Wonder's band have also listened to our demos and asked to play on our album. We need funds to pay for their services as well. We need to raise this money by the end of the month so that we can hopefully finish the album by December and release it in January.
Music is the most fulfilling, amazing thing I've ever done with my time and this album is going to be a culmination of 7 years of hard work, dedication and trial and error. The songs tell my story of love, loss, regret and ultimately triumph and it means everything to me to get those stories out into the world.
We are thankful every day that we even have the option to chase our dreams and try to turn them into reality. Having people who support us is just the icing on the cake. Right now we need your dollars and cents but we'll be able to give you our hearts and souls in the form of our album so its totally a fair trade.
