BLANCO's eye surgeries, vet. board
Blanco as was, now renamed Chilly Willy by his US adopter, was rescued off the streets in Tanta, Egypt, by a dedicated lady named Amira Mahmoud. He had a very badly infected left eye that could not be saved, so a vet surgically removed it. Unfortunately, the eye socket cannot have been cleaned out properly prior to being stitched up, so an infection was festering there, unseen. Amira took Blanco to two different vets as he had a "weepy" eye, and she was told by both vets that the cat just needed eye drops.
Once in his US home, it became clear that his eye socket was in a bad way (see photo!) so QP Dee took her new cat to see a vet. She was told that the stitches had to be removed, the empty eye socket cleaned out and drained, and two different lots of antibiotics were prescribed to cure two separate, different types of infection. Sadly, Blanco is not very co-operative and will not take his medication even if trickery is used, so he has to be boarded at the vet clinic. All of this does not come cheap. The adopter cannot afford all the veterinary fees her new cat has incurred, hence this fundraiser. She already has a cat who is costing her a great deal in vet fees, and she would not, and could not, have adopted poor Blanco if she had known how much he would cost in veterinary treatments almost immediately. In spite of all this, she has already grown very attached to this Egyptian puss who is an absolute darling. (He was my sponsorship boy for a number of months, hence my involvement.)
QP Dee has already paid $500 to her vet for surgery, vet clinic boarding and antibiotics, but before Blanco is completely well again, he will have racked up another projected $500 in vet fees.

We will all of us - QP Dee, his adopter; Amira, his rescuer; and I, his former sponsor - be profoundly grateful to each and every one who helps us to pay Blanco's vet bills!
