We are artists and founders of a growing Bloomington, Indiana-based art collective known as Thylacine Dream.
We're raising money to buy toys on Black Friday to donate to Toys for Tots , a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents can't afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
To be clear, we are NOT donating the money to Toys for Tots ; 100% of all donations will be spent by two manchildren on toys for Toys for Tots to ensure that the money is spent on toys. Toys for tots!
We will be filming both the shopping spree and the donation of the toys for part two of a two-part video to be uploaded to YouTube on Christmas Eve wherein we will also show all receipts for purchases to prove the money donated went to toys. Part One of the video will be uploaded on Thanksgiving Day when our fundraising campaign ends.
WE NEED THE MONEY BY THANKSGIVING so it can be spent on Black Friday (which tends to start on Thanksgiving). Black Friday deals = more toys for more tots!
Kids shouldn't have to suffer for their parents' financial woes – especially on Christmas. Kids should have toys to play with. Period. With your help they can benefit from the chaotic consumerism of Black Friday! With any luck in the years to come Toys For Tots Black Friday Bonanzas like this will be prominent far and wide.
