Black Fox Newz: Voice 4 the People

Reaching the donation goal, while seemingly large but relatively small compared to what it takes to start a news outlet, will serve as a catalyst to get BFN to become a self-sustaining source of quality news and entertainment for the Black, Hip-Hop, truth-seeking and socially awakened communities throughout the USA and hopefully the world.


The Plan
BFN has a formula that fuses Hip Hop, politics, knowledge, and entertainment in a way that captures attention from millennials as well as from the generations before us. Even those who are not Black or who do not like Hip Hop appreciate the truth behind our content during a time in media where fact-checking and investigative reporting seem less important than captivating story titles.Achieving the donation goal will allow us to take the Graduation Party (parent company) and BFN to heights that news media and the entertainment industry have never seen before. With these co-dependent entities, we will be able to achieve the following goals:
1. inform my community and my country and people abroad about news that is actually shaping the globe



2. use the Hip-Hop industry as a platform and a means of communication


3. employ a staff of writers, cameramen, reporters, videographers, editors, and interns

4. make advertisement deals with companies that promote integrity, health, wealth, and Black-owned business

5. distribute our own music which serves as the soundtrack to our news stories

A Newz Beginning
Black Fox Newz is a project that derived from an idea that I had at the end of 2011 for a music video with a news broadcasting theme. After six years of collegiate education while watching the ascension of an African-American U.S. President, I came to understand the ability of media to make or break a story and boost or tarnish someone's credibility. Consequently I could understand why people should invest in their own media outlet even if it is only for those aforementioned capabilities. Instead of complaining about the lack of ownership in my community, I took it upon myelf to create this “channel”. I decided that I would use this medium to:
--expose truth that is not shown or highlighted in mainstream media,
--dispel or confirm conspiracy theories,
--keep my community informed about stories that are way more impactful to their lives than the stories that are put in front of them daily,
--promote activism and "good" news,
--introduce the Hip Hop community to artists including myself who are unjustifiably excluded from exposure in a music industry plagued by cronyism,
--help stimulate commerce within the African-American and Hip Hop communities,
--and to ultimately entertain the masses with culture that represents the communities with which we identify.

The name of the channel is special since the Black Fox is seen as wise, cunning, responsive, aware, discerning, swift, gentle, yet courageous. Simultaenously having seen how Fox News antagonizes non-Republicans, African-American public figures, Hip-Hop culture, and all of Black culture's representatives while being allowed to purport falsehoods as truth, I feel obligated to keep the name of my channel as Black Fox Newz since it is essentially the antithesis of what Fox News is about.
