Birthday Fundraiser for Red Brigade

Hello! It's that birthday time of year again! Yay! I've officially decided to make birthday fundraisers a yearly tradition from now until I'm outta birthdays. Consider it a fundraising PARTY! I may not have a magic wand to fix everything in the world, but with your help we can all chip in to make it a little brighter for others. Last year we helped raise $701 for the Children's Aid Society of NYC. Now, this year I've chosen to raise money for the Red Brigade in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.
The Red Brigade in Lucknow is a grassroots organization in one of India's poorest regions. It's formed by a group of brave young women who are survivors of assault with no protection or justice under the law. They have come together to *literally* fight back against sexual violence and discrimination by teaching young girls and women life saving martial arts and protesting to end child marriage and oppression. The money raised goes to build and support a residential Red Brigade Academy to house and protect girls who are no longer safe in their abusive households. It will also help the Red Brigade continue to provide critical self-defense training and empowerment to more and more women in India. Please visit the Red Brigade's website .
