Birdie's Surgery Fund

My name is Justine Ekstrom from York, PA - my dog, Birdie, has recently been diagnosed with Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). A disk in her back has buldged and is now pinching her spinal cord, causing her rear legs to be paralyzed. This all occured over the course of 2 days - Saturday she was showing signs of having a painful spot, Sunday morning she was unable to move. Birdie was promptly rushed to the Vet ER and has been there since 10am.
Unfortunately, 10pm Sunday I received a call that Birdie's condition has worsened and she is no longer responding to pain tests in her paw pads.
The veterinary she is at and reccomending I have this surgery within 5 days for a higher success chance.
Birdie was rescued from the Emigsville SPCA 5 years ago and has been my right hand lady ever since. She is the brightest light in my world and I will do anything it takes to help her regain her mobility. My dog is my rock through my bad days with anxiety and PTSD, I am trying all that I can to give to her all that she has given to me in her time of need.
All contributions to this fund will be greatly appreciated. Birdie is a frisky little girl who has so much life left to live, and I want to make sure she has the best of it all.
Many of the veterinaries I have talked to have immediately turned me away because I do not have this amount up front. University of Penn is willing to take the upper half of a deposit for her MRI and surgery. 24 hours in, I have talked to about 6 different vet locations, any suggestions of clinics or charities would be greatly appreciated and immediately contacted.
All contributions will be used to cover her medical expenses - MRI, surgery, aftercare, and if needed, a set of wheels if surgery has to be postponed.
I want to thank you so, so much for reading and contributing to this fund. I have 2 rescue dogs, Birdie and Bogey, and they are my everything. Birdie is my beagle butt and destroyer of all that is toilet paper, and I wouldn't trade her antics for the world. All of the love and support from everyone who took the time to read and consider, thank you, from the bottom of my heart and both of my girls.
