Biopsy Needed for Animal Advocate

Skye Louise Weaver-Warren, 42 years old, has been in the business of saving pets from abuse and neglect for the past several years. She is currently in the Canine Care Division of The Kansas City Pet Project, one of Kansas City's premier animal shelters. She has a continuously growing and compassionate heart for animals, especially dogs and cats, and often fosters those who are stressed or are in dire health and can't be kept in the shelter.
Skye was recently in an accident with a hit and run driver. Upon being examined after the accident, the physician noticed a lump in her throat. Upon further examination, it was discovered that she had 2 growths on her thyroid and is in immediate need of a biopsy to determine if the growths are cancerous. Fortunately, it is likely that the growths are not cancerous and at that point she will need to work on a plan to have her thyroid removed as soon as possible as there are many health issues she has experienced for quite some time that have apparently been caused by her thyroid and the growths. However, if the growths are cancerous, then again, immediate steps will need to be taken to prepare and undertake the battle of fighting the cancer, beginning with removal of the thyroid. Because Skye works for a non-profit organization, she does not make enough money to buy insurance. The biopsy will cost close to $900.00 so I ask for $1200.00 to cover fees and travel expenses since she also no longer has a car (it was totaled and she only had liability insurance).
The biopsy needs to be done immediately as she has been told, if it is cancerous, it is a very aggressive cancer and treatment would need to begin immediately. We are praying that it is not cancer but if it is, we will keep our faith strong and do what we can to get her thru it.
