Dear Friends,
Last year I sustained serious injuries as a result of a fall. Due to those injuries, my 25 year career as an attorney, primarily serving those without financial means, came to an abrupt end. I've spent months in physical therapy, with a long way to go. I'll be moving into a one story, handicapped accessible apartment this summer. Still unable to drive, I rely on the kindness of friends and taxi services to get where I need to go.
I now find myself in a financial bind, perhaps similar to many of those people I counseled over the years.
I am no longer able to pay my way. I have no income; bills are collecting, and I can't meet my financial obligations.
While it is embarrassing to admit this publicly, I need financial assistance beyond that which my family can afford to provide. Some very dear friends have already provided help, but now I must reach out to my larger commmuniy of friends. The goal of $22,000.00 is designed to help underwrite my life for the next 18 months.
