Bill Fawcett's Kidney Fund!

It is with deep sadness, and memories of a gentle soul, that we report to our ASH friends the passing of Bill Fawcett. For those of you familiar with our team here at the Academy of the Sacred Heart, you know Bill Fawcett! Warm and tender, with a funny streak that kept you laughing, Bill was an integral part of our ASH family.
In early August, Bill got the message that a kidney for the transplant he had been waiting for over several years was available. After years of dialysis and confidence that God would bring him the right moment, the surgery took place. But, despite all efforts, Bill's body could not sustain the Sepsis that set in, and his heart failed. He died very early on Sunday, August 28.
As Sister Bearss wrote "Shock fills all of our hearts, but I can only take on my own grief and our institutional grief with the imagination of what it means for his wife, his sister, his son, his mother -- and his beloved family of the Maintenance department.
For decades, Bill has cared for all of us -- every adult, child, and every Religious of the Sacred Heart who has ever served here has been served by Bill.
From him, I learned how to love with the humility of a daily duty done with great love and the compassion of hidden works of goodness never noticed by others but known by those who received his grace. I learned how to be generous in action and faithful in mission -- from early morning snow plowing to late night care of the building, we have lost a friend, a brother, a companion on our journey."
To help defray medical expenses the family incurred doing Bill's surgery, we've set up this Go Fund Me account for those who are able to join us in giving back to the familiy in memory of Bill, who gave from the Heart for the Heart over so many years.
Please take a few moments to pray for Bill and if you feel lead to do so, to help with a donation to Bill's family. Donations will be withdrawn by Bill's family, not by Academy of the Sacred Heart.
