Bikeforce - Bicicletas para la Educación

Para nosotros, los Albertos, Antonio, Carol, Cristian, David, Fernando, Gonzalo, Jaime, Javier, Jorge y Noel, empleados de Salesforce España de las oficinas de Madrid y Barcelona, la bicicleta es una manera de desconectar del día a día y de conectarse con la naturaleza, de superarse en cada kilómetro recorrido y cada metro ascendido, de unirnos y hacer piña más allá del trabajo. Pero para muchos niños y jóvenes en Senegal, además la bicicleta les permite llegar puntuales a clase y menos cansados, por lo que se reduce el absentismo escolar y aumenta su rendimiento. 

Cuando empezamos a dar forma a nuestro reto de recorrer el Camino de Santiago en bicicleta, trabajando como lo hacemos en Salesforce (quien colabora con múltiples ONGs a nivel global), tuvimos claro desde el primer minuto que nuestro reto tenía que ir acompañado de una causa que le diese sentido social, que tuviese un impacto y repercusión más allá del simple reto deportivo. ¿Y qué mejor que esta unión viniese también de la mano de la bicicleta?

Cuando conocimos a Inès y a Romà, y nos contaron lo que hacen en su ONG Bicicletas sin Fronteras lo vimos claro. A través de sus proyectos "Bicicletas para la Educación", "Bicicletas para el Desarrollo", y "Bicicletas para la Integración", cambian vidas a mejor gracias a las bicicletas. En particular, Bicicletas para la Educación se lleva a cabo desde 2015 en Senegal, donde se ha desarrollado un proyecto piloto en un instituto de la región de Fatick y se ha replicado en otros centros escolares de secundaria y primaria. ¡Más de 900 alumnos se han beneficiado ya del mismo!

Es por eso el por qué de esta campaña: nos encargaremos de retirar el importe total de las donaciones, y cada euro recaudado se transferirá a Bicicletas sin Fronteras para que más niños y jóvenes se beneficien de sus proyectos. El coste de una bicicleta, transportarla, mantenerla, etc. son unos 200 euros. Con 3000 euros conseguiremos que 15 niños lleguen antes y más descansados al colegio y luego de vuelta a sus casas. Con 10000 euros llegaremos a 50 niños. ¿Nos ayudas a tener el mayor impacto posible en esta iniciativa?

For all of us, the Albertos, Antonio, Carol, Cristian, David, Fernando, Gonzalo, Jaime, Javier, Jorge & Noel, employees of Salesforce Spain based in Madrid and Barcelona, bicycle is the best way to disconnect from routine and connect with nature, to go fast and climb higher on every km. cycled, to unite with our team mates out of the office. But, for children and youngster in Senegal, the bicycle is also a way of getting to school on time with less effort, which helps improving their academic performance and reduce absenteeism.

When we started to plan our challenge of cycling “El Camino de Santiago”, we had clear in our minds we had to couple this challenge with a good cause that gave it social meaning, that had an impact on our society besides a pure sport challenge. This is in part of Salesforce DNA. And, is there a better way to change society that providing bicycles to people who need it most?

When we met Inès and Romà, and they told us the wonderful job they do in their NGO Bicicletas sin Fronteras we knew we had found the perfect match. They are improving the lives of many children using Bicycles with their projects “Bicycles for Education” and “Bicycles for Integration”. In particular, Bicicyles for Education has been active since 2015 in Senegal, where they initially developed a pilot project in the Fatick region and have spread the success in other primary and secondary schools. ¡More than 900 alumni have already benefited from this initiative!

This is the reason for this campaign: we'll be responsible for the withdrawal of all the donations, and transfer every euro we raise to Bicicletas sin Fronteras so it can be used to onboard more children and youngster on this projects. The cost to acquire, maintain and transport a bicycle is aproximately 200€. With 3000€ we will improve the lives of 15 children who will get sooner and well rested to their schools and back home. With 10000€, we can help 50 kids. Can you help us reach the biggest possible impact with this initiative?
