Big new crowd surfer flag

REDaction is the Arsenal fan group who work to improve atmosphere inside the stadium. One of the main ways we try to build atmosphere, is by activating and engaging fans in the minutes before kickoff. For the last 4 years, we have had a huge 20m x 30m flag which passes over the heads of fans in the North Bank. The aim is to get fans involved, create a visual spectacle in the buildup to kickoff, which hopefully then carries on when the game starts.
Unfortunately after 4 years of being stretched, pulled and dragged across the stadium, often in the rain, our flag has seen better days and needs replacing. For our replacement flag, we wanted a project where fans were involved in the design and funding – a true fan-led initiative. We had a range of new designs produced, and put them to a vote of the fans. Almost 10,000 people voted, and the clear winner was a design which incorporates our classic Latin motto meaning “Victory Through Harmony”, and elements of Arsenal badges from years past.
Now we come to funding the flag – we are looking to raise £5,500 for a huge (20m x 30m) monster.
The intent is to use the flag just before kickoff at every home game (except when the weather is really bad) – so any fans watching the game, either on TV or in the stadium, will see the flag at most games, and would remember their contribution to making it happen!
