Bianca's Leukemia Treatment and Care

Donation protected
Around midnight on March 4th, 2019, 20 days before her 15th birthday, Bianca Sanchez was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). It was a truly life-changing moment for Bianca, her parents, Alvin and Jackie, her sister, Aleah and her supporting family members.

The day following her diagnosis, Bianca underwent blood transfusions in preparation for surgery. The day of surgery was a very freighting and anxious day for the family. After about 3 hours of waiting, the parents were informed Bianca performed and handled the surgery very well with zero complications. Finally, a little relief and ray of hope that lifted the Sanchez family back up.

After several days at the hospital, Bianca is now recovering and healing at home. She will continue her Chemo treatment in Richmond twice a week and will have to be carefully monitored for fevers, viruses and other complications. Bianca's treatment plan is projected to be completed in 2 years, as long as there are no set-backs. During this time, a significant portion of "normal life" will be affected. She will not be able to return to school nor continue to competitively play soccer.

While it may be a long, exhausting road to recovery, with family and friends support, Bianca is not fighting this war alone.
We are extremely appreciative of the medical staff at the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU.  We believe she is being treated by the best.

So many friends and family members have been asking what they can do to help. While we cannot take away the heavy burden of what this disease is and will be adding to their lives, we can work together to raise funds to contribute toward:

-Medical treatments and hospital expenses
-Transportation to and from Richmond
-Medical supplies
-Home-schooling
-Lost wages (Alvin and Jackie will need to adjust their working hours to closely monitor Bianca around the clock)
-House cleaning services (to help maintain the nearly-sterile environment Bianca needs to live in)
-Special dietary needs

Let's shower them with our love in the form of financial support, in hopes of making this journey a little more bearable. From the depth of their hearts, the Sanchez Family extends their gratitude for your prayers, positive messages and loving presence during this difficult time in their lives.

We are standing firm and believing for total healing!
