Hi my name is Eleanor, I am 3 years old and I HATE cancer. In April I will become a big sister which is something my family has wanted for a long time.
At the beginning of December 2015, mummy and daddy rushed me to hospital with very high temperatures. Little did they know this would be the start of a long journey as i was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukeamia. The next day I was transferred to John Hunter where my mummy, daddy and I have been ever since.
I have my whole life in front of me. In April I will hopefully have completed my first round of treatment and be healthy enough to meet and hold my baby brother or sister. I was going to start preschool this year an was so excited. I was looking forward to waking up at my house on Christmas morning and endless playdates with my friends. But instead, I'm sitting in hospital getting bone marrow tests, chemicals injected into my body, porta catheters installed and endless tests that I have to endure.
I am beginning to loose my hair, have extreme insomnia, obsessive eating to the point of being sick and 2 weeks ago I was unable to walk or move by myself. Wheel chairs are to scary for me so I am being pushed around in a pram. All of these things are due to the endless drugs the docotrs are pumping through my little body.
My mummy and daddy are being wonderful and supporting me but I know inside they are terrified that they might loose me and the impact the stress of this is having on my unborn brother or sister. They have temporarily packed up their lives, jobs and responsibilities to be by my side and watch Peppa Pig at 2am when I can't sleep.
I need you to share my story in hope that you and your friends can support me and my family through what we are told will be a minimum of a 3 year battle.
PLEASE HELP ME FIGHT IT.
