School supplies for students in need

Hello all. I have accepted a new position at a year-round school in Charlotte, NC. Our school is committed to improving the quality of education for all students. Over ninety percent of the students are receiving free or reduced lunch and many of their parents can not or do not provide them with school supplies. 

Each student deserves an opportunity to begin a new school year with supplies. Often Black/African American children are labeled for negative things but think about how difficult it can be to focus on school work when your basic needs are not met. I would like your help to ease some of this frustration. 

School begins Monday, July 21, 2014. I realize that this is one week away but anything you can donate will help my students and their education this year. I will purchase each student a notebook, pencils, pens, and colored pencils. If you have any of these items on hand I would love to collect them from you.
