The John W. Hereford Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington, WV has served Huntington's youth since 1958. We currently operate a center in Guyandotte as well as the Henrietta Payne Memorial center in West Huntington, on 14th Street West.

The West Huntington center lost its 21st Century Learning grant several years ago and the center has been struggling to make ends meet ever since. We continue to serve as many as 120 kids in the afterschool and summer programs. The charge for each child is only $10 per year, making it an affordable option for families with children attending Central City Elementary, Southside Elementary, and Huntington Middle School.

We are working closely with the River to Rail Committee through the City of Huntington and are so appreciative of their efforts to find resources for the West Huntington center.

We need your help to raise funds for our Club, in order to continue to provide a safe, welcoming and fun place for the kids. Funds could be used for the following:

· Wall repair and painting
· Door repair
· Ceiling tiles
· Flooring
· Light fixtures and bulbs
· Exhaust fans
· Electrical repair
· Water fountains
· Plumbing repair
· Toilet partitions

We are also in need of:·
· Fire extinguishers
· Garbage cans
· Sports equipment
· Tables and desks
· Couches and lounge chairs
· Rugs, bean bag chairs
· Stacking chairs
· Storage totes
· Shelving
· Games and game tables
· Maps, posters, artwork
· Art supplies and paper
· Books
· Snacks and supplies
· Cleaning equipment & supplies

The center is also in need of a van - there is one van that is currently used to tranport the kids from school and also on field trips, however it has over 100,000 miles and will need to be replaced soon.
