Bevs on Bikes for Macmillan Cancer

In October our wonderful Dad will go for his latest scheduled operation for cancer.
This year has not been an easy one, not everything went to plan. However, we are lucky that throughout this rather difficult period, we have had such unwavering kindness, support and love from friends and family.
So in a very small way we'd like to give something back.
Macmillian Cancer Support provides care for hundreds of people who are going through cancer every day. It is a truly wonderful organization and has looked after other close members of our family in the past.
We will be raising funds for Macmillian Cancer support ( https://www.macmillan.org.uk ). To do this my sister Christina and I are planning to cycle 500 miles along the north coast of Scotland (http://www.northcoast500.com/ ). To up the challenge level we will be doing it in late October, in the freezing cold and no doubt our homeland will provide us with a little rain and wind along the way.
Big up to our Dad, aka Jock, for being a constant source of strength, positivity and optimism (most of the time) through what has been a very trying period. We hope to do him proud.
One last, but very important, note- Dad's cancer was caught early (-ish) because he participated in an NHS screening program. It is so important that regular screening for all sorts of cancer is committed to. This particular government funded screening comes through the post. Because it was caught early Dad has, to date, avoided chemotherapy. After a number of invasive operations this year this comes as a relief to us all. We cannot stress the importance of proactive screening and early detection for this and other cancers.
So, thank you in advance for your exceedingly generous donations, and tell your folks (over 60) to always open their NHS mail and get screened regularly!
