Beverly Hills Hollywood ACTSO 2018

Donation protected
ACTSO (Afro Academic Cultural Technological Scientific Olympic) is an enrichment program, sponsored by the NAACP,  designed to recognize high academic and cultural achievements of high school students .  Nine students will represent the Beverly Hills/Hollywood branch at the national competition in San Antonio, Texas in July.  They will compete for scholarships and other prizes against  winners from across the nation in the areas of Music, Writing, Art, Filmmaking and Dance.  Immediate funds are needed to provide transportation and housing, as well as support for an on-going program to be implemented. The ACTSO program relies on the dedication and commitment of volunteer community and business leaders, as well as  mentors, judges and coaches who are highly regarded in their individual fields.  Without their assistance, no program would be able to subsist.
This is the 40th Anniversary of ACTSO, founded by Vernon Jordan in 1978.  More than 300,000 youth have been inspired and benefited since its inception.  Won't you help us continue to provide these enrichment experiences to our young people? Many former ACTSO winners have gone on to successful careers in their chosen fields such as Kamasi Washington, Anthony Anderson and John Singleton to name a few.
