Better Lives through Better Housing

Fix It Forward was started in 2016 by a group of individuals who wanted to make a difference in their own community. Modeled after the Rebuild Together concept in Portland, the idea is to select houses in the local Molalla community that have fallen into a state of disrepair, and upgrade them. Using 100% donated materials (or materials purchased with cash donations) and volunteer labor, Fix It Forward repairs, corrects safety hazards & upgrades these homes for Molalla residents—focusing on single mothers, veterans, and the elderly—who cannot afford to and/or are physically unable to do it themselves. After a year of planning, fundraising and prep, the work is coordinated and completed in one day in May. It is a tour de force of concentrated compassion that can include structural work, electrical, plumbing, painting, property cleanup, landscaping, you name it. Depending on volunteer person-power and material constraints, FIF will attack & accomplish as much as absolutely possible on the big day, often on multiple projects at different homes around Molalla. FIF creates home repair and safety improvments worth thousands of dollars for absolutely no cost to the recipient. We are asking for your help in raising cash donations for this effort, so that we may complete more home projects, thereby touching more lives and making our community a better place to live. Your donation will go toward materials and necessary expenses tied directly to completion of these homes. Every dollar is stretched as far as it will go, and spent responsibly.
