Beth and Paul's Medical Fund

Hi friends. Over the past few years Paul and I have found ourselves in a financial bind. Last year Paul had 9 kidney stones.  It took several procedures to remove them and the bills started piling up.  After that my horse that I rescued, Khali, was almost put down. She stepped on a nail that went through her tendon. It was in her foot for over a week.  I did all the medical treatment recommended but it was quite expensive because the vet had to come out every week to check on her progress and re-evaluate. Shortly after this happened Pippin, my silly munchkin cat got very ill. He has always been an extremely sick cat since he was born but this time we almost lost him. He had to go to Tuft's hospital because he couldn't breathe on his own, and was placed in an oxygen chamber for 3 days.

On top of all of this my hours were cut to part time due to Narcolepsy. Narcolepsy is a condition where your brain can not control REM cycles.  Therefor causing a slew of really unpleasant and disabaling symptoms.  I have had these problems since I was in 7th grade, but I just blamed it on being up too late or not sleeping well. This was until I almost hit a tree on my way to work because I couldn't stay awake.  Every day I faught to stay awake at my job.  Almost everyday I would take breaks in the bathroom, falling asleep on the toilet because I couldn't fight the exhaustion any longer.  The more I faught the more tired I got. I also get frequent migraines, nausea, hypnogogic hallucinations, mild cataplexy (my muscles stop functioning), auditory hallucinations and EDS or extreme daytime sleepiness.  I tried every medication possible for me and they all were ineffective. Therefor I had to cut my hours back to part time (30 hours a week) but still, Narcolepsy ran my life.

The worst happened in November. I had been diagnosed with posterior tibial tendonosis, achilles tendonisis, (something I was born with) flat feet.  My surgeon recommended a Strayer Procedure where they cut my calf muscle to release pressure. He told me I would be back on my feet and driving within a week. He couldn't have been more wrong and did not inform me correctly. I couldn't put any weight on my leg for two weeks. I went to see the nurse practitioner for my post-op and she was furious when she found out what he told me.  She said I needed at least 3 more weeks of no driving.  That's when I had to leave my job. I had no way to get to work with my weird part time hours and my doctor would not approve me to work full time so I could carpool with coworkers. I was forced to leave. It took my a month just to be able to walk on my leg again, and now I can only stand for short periods of time, painfree. I have to do PT two times a week. This is the second time I will be in PT for the same problems.

I am trying extremely hard to teach flute and piano lessons, work up my photography business, babysit, dogsit and house clean but it isn't enough to pay all of our debts, bills, and student loans. Our medical bills and our animal's make us unable to pay for our basic needs like groceries and electricity.  This is very embarrasing but if I don't pay for the past due on my car this month they are going to repossess it.

If you donate to my fund I will give my services to you. I can teach music, perform, do photography sessions, home cleanings, dog and pet sitting, barn cleaning and horse care, baby sitting...anything you need I will do it. I really don't want to have to set up this Go Fund Me, so the least that I can do is pay you back by offering the things that I can do.  Thank you for your time and reading this.  <3
