Our dear friend Benji Wong has been battling cancer and other ailments for a long time. He's very ill and fighting for recovery.
Benji is beloved by countless people for his ready smile, sense of humor and passion for food, movies, music, and, of course, his loyalty to his friends. We all admire his impeccable sense of style, which has always made him look hip and young. He often has shared his love of fun apps and memes with his godson, Adrian Medina, who is 50 years apart but very close in spirit.
Benji has been a fixture in the Asian American community for decades, never missing an important cultural event, and volunteering his time and expertise in many of them. Previously he was a successful event producer.
Benji lives on a pension, and he now needs the help of all his friends for medical expenses, and his final arrangements, including among others, cremation, memorial, and the sorting and disposal of his belongings to reflect his final wishes. We are praying for his recovery, while working to make sure his wishes are respected.
My husband Luis Medina, and I, together with my mother-in-law Olga, our son and cousin Elizabeth have been Benji’s chosen family for many years. Luis and I will be in charge of managing the expenses. We need the funds as soon as possible to help meet Benji's needs.
