Dear Family, Friends, Co-Workers, Acquaintances, and all others reading this:
It is still mind blowing that I am having to write this but here we go...
For those who do not know me, my name is Nick and I have created this page on behalf of my beautiful mother, Judy!
Mom was recently diagnosed (10/17/2019) with a very extensive form of Stage Four Lung Cancer. It was described to us by the doctors as being small cell cancer which has already spread to her bones and lymph nodes. To continue on with what we know from a medical standpoint; this form of cancer is not "curable" but it is "treatable" through a variety of procedures and treatments.
As of now, we are not aware of moms life expectancy but that it will all depend on how she reacts to the upcoming chemo treatments which were started on 10/18/2019. Should the chemo not react well, radiation will be discussed; BUT according to the doctors, chemo is the BEST option because of its effects on the cancer cells. Surgery to remove any portion of the cancerous areas is not a topic of conversation due to how quickly the cancer has spread throughout her body. The goal is to slow down the growth of the cancer cells and to not let it spread any further. Additionally to keep her comfortable while keeping her quality of life as the #1 priority.
Fortunately, it has NOT reached her brain.
With your generous support and donations we hope to ease moms mind when it comes to paying for the upcoming medical bills, living expenses she still has (house, car, etc.), and other items while she is not able to work.
