"Belleau Wood Field" Project

Donation protected
I am a retired U.S. Marine currently living near Stuttgart Germany.  I'm working to donate a stone from the Belleau Wood Battle Field in France to Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa.  This project is neither affiliated with Marine Corp Forces Europe and Africa nor the U.S. Marine Corps and will be a private donation. On 8 November, Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa is planning to dedicate the courtyard in front of its Headquarters on Panzer Kaserne as "Devil Dog Field" in honor of the Marines who fought at the Battle of Belleau Wood in France 100 years ago. This stone, which symbolically witnessed the battle, will be a daily reminder to today's Marines and visitors to the Headquarters, of the sacrifice and bravery of the Marines, Sailors and Soldiers who fought in that Wood in 1918. The fund will pay for the logistics of moving the stone from France to Panzer Kaserne, the preparation of the stone by a local stonemason in Böblingen, the placing of the stone at the headquarters and a brass plate which describes what the stone is and marks the commemoration.  Any additional funds collected will be retained and used to support future historical endeavors.  For Stateside donors, US Dollar to Euro conversions are as follows:  $10 = 8.63€ / $50 = 43€ / $100 = 86€
