Thank you for visiting the basketball fundraising campaign for the Anna Brochhausen Elementary School Scholar Bees.

My name is Noah Ayers and I am a first year staff member and coach at Anna Brochhausen Elementary School. One of the first things I recognized was that the 9 basketballs for the whole school have been well used. Also, last years team wore Tigers jerseys, which were  were donated so the players had something matching to wear.

I am seeking to raise the funds to purchase:
-30 new basketballs
-2 basketball racks
-30 uniforms (15 for boys team, and 15 for girls team)
-30 Spirit T-shirts

We are fielding both a boys and girls basketball team for the first time in 3 years. The teams are comprised of 4th - 6th graders who have agreed to uphold the responsibilities and attitudes of student athletes. This season we have 25 boys on the team (15 of which will earn a spot to dress each week), and expect 10-15 girls when their season starts at the beginning of 2015.

Anna Brochhausen Elementary School is an Indianapolis Public School on the east side of the city. In 2012 the school received an F grade from the State Department of Education. In 2013 though, the students turned their school around, raising the schools grade from an F to an A. This was due, in part, to the hard work and focus they displayed, as well as their buying into a rigourous new teaching method called Project: Restore . The students continue to rise to the challenge they were issued, and I think that they deserve to have the opportunity and the tools to represent their school in basketball.

Your contribution will allow those students who have earned a spot on the team to each have a basketball to work with during practice, and wear the jerseys of their school at games. I feel that seeing the new basketballs and uniforms will also attract the attention of some students who are looking for further motivation to succeed.
