Hi everyone, thanks for taking a look at this fundraiser.
The long and short of it is: I need some dental work, I have no insurance, and little hope of raising this money in a timely fashion without crowdsourcing. In the meantime I'm having chronic pain from one tooth already. I'm also already still in some debt from a prior visit to get my teeth cleaned and x-rayed... That's when they found all the repairs I will need done.
None of these are emergencies, but they are things that will need to be addressed sometime this year or else they can turn more severe and costly over time. There is also a very real chance that any of them could start causing me even more pain than I am already in, at any time. In total, I need two replacement fillings, two new fillings (done at the same time), a crown, and an extraction. As you will see, this is well over 3000 dollars out of pocket.
This is a picture of the cost breakdown of all of the work (the highlighted item is just the thing that we planned to work on first). I don't have to have this done all at once, so this fundraiser is for the total cost of all the work, plus the small amount to cover the fee that Gofundme requires. Gofundme does also subtract 3% from each donation from processing, but I have no real way to calculate or estimate how much that might be, so it is not of any concern to me. So, the breakdown of the total costs goes like this:
$3362 (total cost of all the dental work)
+
$168 (5% of the dental work - the gofundme fee)
=
$3530 total
Now as I recieve funds, I will be able to withdraw money and go get the work done tooth by tooth. As this happens, I will be sure to make updates to the page to let everyone know about the progress!
In the unexpected event that we should raise much more than the required amount, leftover funds will go toward my other healthcare needs -- including at-home dental care stuff so this hopefully never happens again!
