Beds For Charlotte's Homeless

As a realtor in Charlotte, much of my time is spent driving around the city.  Just last week, it broke my heart to see a man sleeping on the sidewalk in the rain and I realized this is no longer an uncommon site.  I was immediately driven to research the problem and then do what I could as an individual to help.  

UNC Charlotte's Urban Institute reported nearly 1,700 homeless people in Charlotte-Mecklenburg on the night of January 31, 2018 - 13% higher than 2017.  With only 700-800 beds in shelters, many of our homeless are left to sleep outside.  As temperatures drop and harsh weather approaches, these vulnerable members of our society are in dire need of sleeping bags and other items to help them survive winter in the Queen City.

One person can't solve this problem so I want to appeal to my network of friends and their networks to open your hearts and contribute.  Any donation will help provide warmth to homeless individuals this winter. 

All funds raised will be used to purchase sleeping bags.  I contacted The Urban Ministry Outreach Team who have happily agreed to distribute the bags to homeless individuals in camps and outdoor areas.
