For the past 16 years, I've been a flight medic in the U.S. Air Force, helping the injured in both peace time efforts, such as hurricanes or earthquakes, or in wartime environments in the middle east. Though my skills have helped me treat the most severe injuries, I am still held to a restricted scope of what I am able to do.
After obtaining my dual degree in psychology and sociology in 2017, I felt the call to do more for my fellow veterans. Not only do they need physical support, but the onslaught of what they've experienced in the service has led them to the need for greater support in their psychological and social environments as well.
My goal on gofundme is to raise money to cover the tuition costs of the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program that I have already been accepted to. I have already used my GI bill for my initial degree, and any money I currently make goes into supporting my wife and my soon to be two children. While I m attending the program, I will still be active in the Air National Guard as a flight medic, training and prepping to not only be a nurse for the civilian world, but to work towards a commission as a flight nurse, so that I can continue to render care, whenever and wherever that may be.
I've always had a passion to help others, and I want to continue to grow my abilities to be able to give the most that I can, not only to our veterans and those currently serving, but to those in the local communities. I want to be able to help on physical, mental, and social levels, for anyone who needs it, no matter what.
