Becca's Backpacks

Donation protected
Last year I started this project : I, with the help of friends and classmates made more than 70 backpacks and handed them out to people in need. I am continuing the project to reach even more disadvantaged. Using area homeless shelters to help, I am making sure the backpacks go where they are most needed. Below is my story:

Hello my name is Rebecca Norman. I am a junior from E.O Smith High School in Storrs CT. As an agricultural major, I must complete a requirement called an S.A.E. The S.A.E or “supervised agricultural experience” is a one-hundred and eighty hour commitment that can be research based, getting a job, creating your own business, or a community service project. I have chosen to do a community service project. I have named my project “Becca’s Backpacks”. I am going to make care packages (using backpacks) and give them to the homeless throughout Connecticut. I need help to make these packages. I am looking for donations to help lower the cost of the backpacks. My original goal was to make and hand out 50 backpacks. This year I would like to equal or surpass that acomplishment. The backpacks are going to include in them:

Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Deodorant
Shampoo
Feminine products
Combs
Scarves
Hats
Gloves
Chapstick
Small first aid kits
Small sewing kits
Canned food
Socks
Bottles of water
Tarps
Anything you can contribute would be very helpful.

Thank-you very much

Sincerely,

Rebecca Norman
