Bearing Witness: Teen Asylum Detention

Donation protected
Children seeking asylum in the US are being detained in inadequate camps. We are in the midst of an American made human rights crisis. When I am asked what I did, I must be able to answer, “Everything in my power.”

Following in Joshua Rubin’s footsteps, I am going to Homestead, Florida to bear witness to the teenagers seeking asylum detained in the Homestead Detention Camp. I will tweet, Facebook, and email out what we witness.

You can help in the following ways:

1.     Donate to offset the cost of the trip. Any money raised above the amount need to witness will be donated to HIAS. I will also account for every dollar spent.

2.     Help increase my social media presence so my witnessing is broadcasted. Since I do not even know how to ask you to help me do this, you can see how much assistance I need!

3.     Edit blogs I will write about our experience.

4.     Use your press connections. There are those who are staying in Homestead ALL THE TIME! While I will be happy to give any interviews that can help get out the word, there will also be “witnesses” available outside the detention center.

5.     Go to Homestead, FL yourself. I can only be there for a few days.
