Beanies Surgery Fund

Beanie was a stray dog from Arkansas who was found by a shelter and was brought up to NYS. During her stay at the shelter she was part of an animal assisted therapy program to help children with emotional and behavioral needs. While working with that program my fiance Valerie and I fell in love with Beanie. We adopted her shortly after and she very quickly became an irreplaceable part of our family.  Two months after adopting Beanie we found out that she was born with a conditon called Luxating Patella in both her back legs.

Luxacting Patella is when the kneecap moves and dislocates out of its proper location every time she walks. We were told that by the age of 6 she would be unable to walk if she did not get surgery on both of her legs. We were able to get surgery on her right leg last October but it was very expensive and we could not afford the surgery on her left leg. We were hoping that with the right leg having had the surgery she would not need to get the left one done for another year or so.  However, with every day that passes her leg seems to be getting worse. She is struggling to walk up and down stairs, jump up onto the bed, go on walks, and by 4pm every day she is limping and walking on three legs.

Our poor Beanie is in pain every day and at the moment we do not have the funds to pay for her surgery as it will cost around $3200. It is hard for us to see her suffer and not be able to provide the medical care she so needs. It would mean everything to us if you could help our baby not have to live with this pain.  Every dollar will bring us one day closer to being able to see Beanie run around and play again. Every little bit helps and we are forever grateful.
