Bday Beard Shaving for Sistering

It's that time of year, I'm celebrating my birthday by shaving 365 days of beard for charity again! This year had me reflecting on how women are treated in our society, and I thought we might do our part to help. That's why this year's proceeds are going to an organization called Sistering.
Sistering serves at-risk women facing social isolation, substance use, mental health issues, trauma, violence, abuse, and disability. They also help women who are immigrants, refugees, and those without legal status. The number of services they provide to hundreds of women a day with such a small team on short budget is staggering - medical, harm reduction, shelter, food, and more, available 24/7, 365 days a year.
Here's how it works: the campaign is open today only, 'cause it's my birthday! Make a donation on this page (any amount helps, but if you can afford $20 or even $50 that would be wonderful). Tomorrow morning, I will check how much money has been donated, and act accordingly:
$1000 - I will clean shave this 365-day beard.
$1500 - I will keep a moustache for 24 hours before shaving completely.
$2000 - I will keep a pair of "mutton chops " sideburns for 24 hours.
$2500 - I will keep the "mutton chops " sideburns for a full week (oh, dear).
Obviously you'll all get pics, but even better, I'm at a conference with hundreds of people this weekend, so those old-school mutton chops are going to be especially visible. What are you waiting for? Donate now!
In 2015, we raised $1000 in Kiva microloans. In 2016 we raised $1500 and in 2017 we raised $2000 for Homes First. Notice a trend? This year let's hit $2500 for the women at Sistering!
