Bedford Central Presbyterian church-Complete roof replacement project.

 

Our Desires:

Over decades of upholding and supporting the people of this community this historical land mark is beginning to deteriorate. The roof and other parts of this building needs major renovation. The basement of this building has experience many flooding which caused the walls to have water damage.

Bedford Central Presbyterian church, is a sanctuary for both the youths and adults in the Crown Heights community-this church has accommodated many youth programs including New Life of NYC Inc. Bedford Central has opened its doors to the people of the Crown Heights neighborhood, it has housed New Life of NYC Inc, for over twenty years.

 

Our History:

Bedford-Central's birth took place under an apple tree in a field at Vanderbilt and Atlantic Avenues where Henry Newcomb ministered to children who had little or no education. This eventually led to the creation of a school on July 4th of 1852. After outgrowing an attic, the school moved to a barn on Dean Street and Underhill Avenue which became Mt.
