Bath Area Food Bank Walk for Hunger

I am raising money for the Bath Area Food Bank for their 3rd annual Walk for Hunger on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Please consider donating; the money is used to fill the gaps between what is donated by local grocery stores.
All proceeds of this event will help feed hundreds of food insecure families and individuals in Bath, West Bath, Phippsburg, Woolwich, Georgetown, and Arrowsic. The BAFB operates a food pantry that feeds 100s of families monthly as well as a soup kitchen that prepares 1,000 meals monthly. BAFB also supplies 4 Bath schools with healthy snacks to students in need. Fun fact: BAFB also provides diapers and other personal hygiene products to the families it supports!
I got involved with the BAFB late last year through working at Bath Iron Works. I’ve been involved in the donation of excess food ordered for sea trials and other BIW events. I’ve been volunteering at the BAFB with some of my teammates in the Professional Development Program. Recently I have accepted a seat on the Board of Directors and I’m very excited about the opportunity to help fight against food insecurities.
