Basic supplies for school in Kangra

Donation protected

There is a small school settled in the Himilayas of Dharamsala, India with a few amazing teachers and approximately 50 children from ages 6-12. With the help of international volunteers these teachers have classrooms where they can hold their lessons, but they are still missing basic supplies such as pencils, books, maps and much more. They are also unable to teach physical education due to a lack of sports equipment such as balls, jump ropes, or a jungle gym.

Aside from a lack of equipment, the school would need many renovations in order to be considered safe by any modern standards. Because the government does not prioritize public schools within their budgets, the teachers of this rural public school will often pay out of their own pockets to provide learning tools for the children, or pay for renovations to keep the school safe, despite their very low salary.

I spent 3 weeks in September of last year working as a volunteer at this school with a group of amazing people from many countries. We did as much as we could while we were there to improve their school grounds, as well as their classrooms, and we spent lots of time with the students and teachers. This year, one of the volunteers from our group will be returning to India, and our group would like to raise money for her to bring with her to donate to this school. Please consider donating even a few dollars to go towards the futures of these bright young minds. Even a small amount will go a long way to help change the quality of their education, and the quality of their lives.

Give what you can, and we give our many thanks in advance for your help.
