2019 NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION: BE GOOD PARENTS!
After almost 5 years of trying, 7 pregnancies and 8 angel babies, Bart and I are so excited to share that we are growing our family through an independent adoption!
After our most recent loss this past fall, Bart and I started looking into other ways to grow our family. During this time we were contacted by a young couple who knew us and our infertility struggles. They had recently found out that they was pregnant and asked if we would adopt their baby. They did not feel as though they could provide for a baby at this time in their lives but didn't want to put their baby in the care of strangers. Knowing us and our desire to grow our family, they felt that we could provide the life they want for their baby. There are no words to properly thank someone for thinking of and choosing you as the couple they want to take care of and raise their baby. We of course said yes!
This past month we got to see pictures and video of our baby's first ultrasound. Baby was measuring 13 week and moving like crazy. We will also be find out if the baby is a boy or girl very soon which we can't wait to share! Next month we are hoping to get the legal process of our adoption started which will include meeting with lawyers and starting our home study.
Adoption Puzzle Fundraiser:
Through our years of infertility struggles people have often reached out asking if there was anything they could do to help or support us. With that in mind Bart and I decided to do a puzzle fundraiser to help us raise money for the adoption process. We will not have to pay the usual agency fee but will still have to pay for a home study, legal fees, and possibly hospital bills. We are going to need all the support we can get along the way.
We have created a GoFundMe campaign and ordered a 400 piece puzzle (a few pieces can be seen on our announcement board). For every 25 dollars a person donates to our campaign we will be putting their name on one puzzle piece. You can purchase as many puzzle pieces as you would like! Once completed, we plan to frame the puzzle and hang it on a wall in our baby's room so they can see how many people have supported us through this journey and love them.
Thank you to those that have sat with us, prayed with us, cried with us, and supported us. We truly couldn't have done this without you and we can't wait to share this new journey with you.
