Barrys Transport

Hi my name is Barry and I need some help , I am appealing to anybody out there who cares to help with purchasing a wheelchair and replacing an electric scooter. The reason I am asking for help is because I am now realizing (a bit late I know) that I'll never walk unaided again. You see 18 months ago I was a road builder on site everyday working full time same as anybody else, then in August 2015 I left work and went to my mother's,on arrival as per usual her dog Harley became excitable on hearing me coming and jumped up me as I entered (he knew I'd be taking him out. He didn't get out much) as he did this he caught my arm with his tooth giving me a slight scratch. This wasn't unusual and I carried on without giving it a second thought. Later that night I started to get stomach pains like I'd never had before, it was then that my partner Naomi p(who was near panicking) insisted I went to the hospital. By the time the ambulance arrived I felt like I was dying! Straight on the gas and air, my thoughts started drifting. I could hear Naomi comforting me and telling the paramedic that my skin was going black(sepsis). I saw the lights entering the hospital then that was it! The next thing I remember was waking up six weeks later to be told my kidneys weren't working so dialysis for the rest of my life and they were going to cut my legs off from the knee down! I got lucky and the surgeon managed to save my legs but I had to lose both my feet. I'd contracted sepsis secondary to a disease called capnocytophaga from Harley's scratch. The sepsis part of the disease had destroyed my skin and left me with a body full of scars just to add to my run of bad luck. I won't go into detail but if it wasn't for Naomi and my kids I would be dead now they kept me going, wouldn't let me look on any of it as negative just a different way of life. Even after dying a couple of times on the operating table and Naomi being told to gather the family they all stayed strong for me. Anyway 18 months later I am back on my stumps and I can actually walk a few steps on them now and I made my self a pair of shoes which help me walk on hard surfaces so I'm getting there. I'd just like to get out a bit, go to the shops, maybe ride down the village not have to rely on someone else going to the shop for me . We were forced to move home when I came out of hospial as we lived in an upstairs flat. I didn't take into account our new place is at the bottom of a hill and I don't have the strength anymore to pull myself up it. My old scooter was given to me but it keeps breaking down now,( latest is worn out tyres and a puncture!) Just that as kept me housebound for a month. I'm tired of feeling like a prisoner in my own home please help me if you can, a small donation will go a long way in helping me get out. Thank you for taking the time to read this I hope it's you that can help me?
