Barn Fire Devastation Fundraiser

$935 of $1,000 goal

Raised by 18 people in 1 month
UPDATE: Hi everyone! Thank you for sharing and donating. We now have enough halters and buckets! Im going to list a few things that we could still use: tack (English and western), grooming supplies, medical supplies, helmets, boots (SMB boots, splint boots, etc...), salt and mineral blocks, heated buckets, blankets and sheets, and we can always use more hay (both round and square bales). The owner of the farm still really needs tools and such. Thank you all! Please continue sharing and donating, we would be nowhere without you!!

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post. Today was the most terrifying day of my life. I got a call this morning that I needed to get to the barn as soon as possible and this is what I found. The barn I board at was burning. Thanks to an amazing woman who stopped and alerted Lance and Marsha, the farm owners, that the barn was on fire, they were able to evacuate all horses and other animals except for one horse and a bunny before I even arrived. We were very lucky to have such a low number of casualties. We can't be sure how the fire started.

Well it's been almost two weeks since the fire. It's so crazy, it seems so long ago, yet also like it was yesterday. Harley and Whiskey are settled into a new barn for a while until we rebuild. Thanks to Terry Ballard of Ballard's Tack and Supplies in Paducah, most of the barn has been deconstructed and we are hoping to begin building in the next couple of weeks. The donations we have received have absolutely blown my mind. I wish I could personally thank everyone who donated, on GoFundMe or otherwise. These donations have really been a blessing. It's going to take time, money, and patience to rebuild and replace all we lost but thanks to all who have donated and Lance and Marsha, this process is a bit easier. Please feel free to keep sharing and donating. Several of us still don't have saddles, bridles, and other expensive tack so your support continues to mean the world to everyone. Thanks! -Dani

Today most of the boarders and Marsha were able to take a trip to the Marshall County Co-Op and Ballard's Tack and Supply where we were so graciously given a shopping spree. We are all so grateful not only for the supplies we were able to purchase, but for the concern and generosity of the community and all who have donated. Yesterday a family came and helped us to deconstruct and clean up all most all of the barn in addition to dropping off several donation items. Thank you all for your support. You can't know how much this means to us! ❤️
