Barley's Surgery

As most everyone knows, Barley is our best friend and adventure pup. This past weekend, Barley was eating a cow hoof (type of dog treat like a bone) and playing with toys, like any normal dog would. On Sunday, he woke up vomiting and couldn't hold anything down. We hoped it would pass within a day and would just be a stomach bug.

Monday morning, he still was not doing well. We took him into the vet to find out he had a severe GI obstruction from the cow hoof, where a piece of string was attached "acting as a saw to the inside of his intestines," as the vet explained it. 

He's been through a pretty intense surgery for such a freak accident that could have happened to anyone's dog that plays with toys and eats treats like these. 

We've had to pay for extensive over night care and a lot of treatments to ensure he is not in pain. 

This care is not cheap, but we would pay and do just about anything to make sure our baby comes back home with us.
