Support young artists in expanding the scope of their creative endeavors and immersing their practice in the strength of the African Diaspora!  Black Arts Retreat is awarding two (2) scholarships, valued at $6000 which will cover the all expenses of retreat, including the full cost of travel to Haiti food, room, classes, excursions, and an additional stipend. This scholarship will be available to Artists age 18 - 21 of all mediums.  Artists are asked to express the role of healing in their work in order to be considered.

This unique trip, scheduled from Dec. 27 2018 - Jan. 4 2018 is set to include highlights such as Museum Visits , Hiking, Drum and Dance Class,  Kreyol Language Class, Performance Opportunities,  Live Music Concerts and Community Art Making.  The group will journey from the Haitian capital of Port au Prince up to the northern seaside city of Cap Haitien stopping for a village experience and community in the rural town of Saint Michel de L’Atalaye.

Black Arts Retreat is working in collaboration with Djaspora Productions of Oklahoma City, OK and Evoluculture and Urban Kween Brand of Newark, NJ to make this initiative possible. More information on Scholarship Contest details at
