Barcelona Educational Conf. Trip

EXCITING, AMAZING NEWS, kindred, creative spirits!

I've been chosen to attend a new kind of educational conference this summer in Barcelona. It is an intensive one-month long course that I will share with only 400 others: educators, innovators, creatives, writers and entrepreneurs from throughout the world. While there, we will be studying & working together, as well as doing our own individual creative research and work. As a participant, I will be a part of the beta-testing of Mindvalley Academy, a different kind of 'world university' that meets each summer in a different city. I am thrilled to have been chosen to be a small part of the initial stages of its incubation.

The cost to attend this conference is:

$1000 - tuition
$1100 - for a place to stay
$1500 - for airfare round/trip
$1000 - for meals, public transport, taxis, etc

Total: $4600

I can cover the tuition, the cost of a new passport, and part of the cost of the airline ticket. However, I need help with the rest. So, far I've been promised $250 from my mom (yay, Mom!) to get the ball rolling.


What value will attending this conference bring to me, my life, my work as a teacher, and writer?

I believe it will be an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet a diverse and gifted group of people who are doing work that will make the world a better place. It is a chance to rub shoulders with like-minded souls who - like me - are working to create art, innovations, businesses and products that will affect others in a positive way. For the past five years, I've written extensively about my spiritual life and practice, hoping to encourage, enliven, and enlighten my readers with that work. I've developed The Wonderland Files and my website and am now working on several book projects. This trip would allow me to explore a culture that's always fascinated me, meet new people, investigate new ideas, and explore the cutting edge of education and creativity. It would allow me to write and reflect in a way that only travel can do; I haven't traveled outside of the US since 1979.  It feels like it is time now to go see the world again.

Only a small number of people were invited based upon their applications. I am honored to be one of them. Help me embrace this beautiful, unique, incredible opportunity to teach, write, and learn in Barcelona this summer as a member of the inaugural class of Mindvalley U.  I am certain that I will make the most of this chance to dialogue with and learn from everyone I meet there.
