Getting Barbara to Japan

We want to send Barbara Nishiguchi to Japan. Barbara is the principal’s secretary at Branham, and has done an outstanding job over the past two decades, but she’s also Branham’s mom and soul.
She is often the first person to greet new teachers, and she effortlessly makes every person feel special. She makes sure that you’re taken care of, from last-minute copies to reminding you to get reimbursed for your expenses. She does so much behind the scenes that teachers have often said that without Barbara, Branham will no longer feel like a second home to them.
It’s a unique gift to our school that through five principals, five vice principals, hundreds of teaching and administrative changes, Barbara has been our constant.
And as of December 16, she will be leaving. While this is sad for us at Branham, it’s a chance for us to celebrate her and her career at Branham.
Barbara and her husband, Morris, share an infectious love of traveling. They live to travel. But they’ve never been to Japan. They’ve been across America and Europe and have seen its history and buildings, but have never seen the peaks of Mt. Fuji or ridden the bullet trains that criss cross the country.
If you know Barbara, have ever worked with her, or were a student at Branham, you know that she is truly a special person, and she deserves a truly special parting gift from the Branham community.
We want to raise enough money for a two-week stay in Japan. (The staff is planning to raise money directly).
Funds will go toward:
-Hotel
-Airfare
-Accommodations
-Two-week tickets to Shinkansen, the high-speed rail, and subway fare
-Special events
