BAND TOGETHER- STL Women to DC

Donation protected
WE NEED YOU WITH US IN DC in spirit, in heart and in physical representation.  The funds from this campaign will be used to send 10 STL women to DC with physical representations of our donors that will take part in the Women's March on Washington with us and be sent to you as a keepsake of your presence afterwards. Let's BAND TOGETHER.

This campaign is, in it's most esoteric form, for any woman who is unable to be present in DC for the march but wishes to be represented in name and in deed. All donors of $15 or more will receive a hand-printed cloth armband with the event, date and YOUR NAME  and the event name and date on it. All donors' bands will be worn by us, your femenist avatars, during the march and will be individually photographed with your name as part of the march. You will receive a digital photo and the physical armband after the event to remind you, reinforce you and encourage you to keep fighting. We are the most powerful when we are together and we need all of our power to fight against the things that hold us down, hold us back.  PLUS all donors of $40 or more will receive a beautifully wrought, hand-printed "Nasty Woman" commemorative  march t-shirt by St. Louis textile artist, Samantha Hunerlach (better photo coming soon!)

(hand dye-processed shirt! print not visible "Nasty Woman" with event info on back)

This campaign is, in it's simplest form, to send a van full of 10 nasty, radical women to DC from St. Louis MO for the Women's March on Washington on January 21, 2017 to take part in this important, historic march and to bear YOUR NAME and YOUR SPIRIT along with us during the event.  We'll use the money for gasoline, lodging, road meals and to pay for the creation of the arm bands and t-shirts.

(Here's our van!)

*Should we reach beyond our goal, we'll upgrade from my rusty band van (no heat, but we're tough!) to renting a more reliable, temperature controlled van.*

This is an important moment in our history of coming together at a time when we're more divided than ever. There is so much hate, so much prejudice and so much distance and it's not going to be easy to bridge that divide. But, good is rarely easy. Standing up to those who want to keep you down is rarely simple. It's easy to be overwhelmed by all of this, to be confused and hurt. But, my fellow strong, beautiful, passionate sisters... we've got to keep our hearts open.

We'd love to have your support, but whether you fund us or not, I encourage you to stay open, stay hopeful and stay powerful. This is only the beginning and justice calls upon us all to look into the face of opression and say, "I do not accept". For as long as it takes.

Love and Gratitude.
