Bali Volcano Refugee Relief Fund
Jewelry designer/television personality Robert Manse has recently established the Bali Volcano Refugee Relief Fund via GoFundMe.com. Its goal is to raise $5,000 or more to aid families displaced from their villages close to Mt. Agung that traditional government efforts can’t reach. Working with his Artisan partners and his office in Bali, Robert’s humanitarian effort aims to provide blankets, batteries, flashlights, emergency food and water along with other supplies that will directly help those in immediate need. First erupting in September, Mount Agung continues to spew ash into the local atmosphere and caused a drop in tourism, which accounts for approx. 80% of Bali's economy. To date, approximately 122,500 people were evacuated from their houses around the volcano. Its last major 1963 eruption killed nearly 1,100 people, but it's uncertain how long the current eruption might last. Help is desperately needed and Robert and his team will make sure every cent (less minimal fees for processing) goes directly to the people who need it most. Every dollar counts. Robert thanks you in advance and wishes you and yours a Happy Holiday season.
